If we were to put a monkey against a six-year-old child, I believe that on most subjects, a human child would excel more than the monkey would. The following is entirely opinion-based and does not in any way rely on scientific data or research. This is simply what I believe would happen if a six-year-old child were to be put against a monkey in different competitions.
First of all, in terms of intelligence, I believe a kid would do better than a monkey would. While monkeys are very intelligent animals, they do not receive an education like most children do. Monkeys never attend school, let alone know how to read and write. If I were to tell a child to write me a simple story about their day, I reckon I would receive a decent story, albeit not with the best handwriting or story flow. Do the same to a monkey, however, and all you would receive is wasted time. This is not to say that monkeys are not intelligent, just that humans are more cognitively advanced.
Secondly, in terms of physical strength, a monkey does have an advantage over children. However, that does not mean the six-year-old child could never win. Conversely, I believe that a six-year-old human child, with enough rage and anger in their heart, could best a monkey in hand-to-hand combat. Having worked with six-year-old kids before, I can attest to the fact that they have not been conditioned by society to avoid being physical with other people, so they still hit and push each other with no thought of consequences. With this lack of thought behind their actions, I believe that a six-year-old human child would be able to use everything in their power to defeat a monkey in hand-to-hand combat.
Finally, I believe that a six-year-old human child would be able to complete a triathlon before any monkey ever would. A triathlon is a continuous, multi-sport race that includes swimming, cycling, and running, in that specific order. While a triathlon is indeed an extremely arduous task for any person, a monkey would never be able to finish before a six-year-old child. A human child is better at swimming, biking, and running than a monkey is. Furthermore, a six-year-old human child has far more endurance than a monkey does, due to the trait of endurance that is exclusive to humans. Now, how the child completes the triathlon, that’s a question for another time.
All in all, while a monkey would do better than a monkey in some aspects, in the end, I think a six-year-old human child would do better in the majority of tasks and skills in human life, therefore being superior to a monkey. Please keep in mind this is completely an opinion, and uses little to no scientific facts.
